VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)- In Valdosta, a neighbor's tip helps officers make a burglary arrest, while it's in progress.

Valdosta Police Officers say they were called to a home on Pineview Drive Saturday Morning about a burglary. According to a police report, when they got to the home, they found an open window at the back of the house.

Officers gave verbal warnings into the home, warning for anyone inside to come out, or they would send a K-9 into the home.

The suspect then told officers he would come out because he did not want to be bit by the K-9.

Once he crawled back out of the open window, Officers arrested Derek Cole for burglary.

They also arrested him for Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime after they found he was carrying a screwdriver. They believe that's how he gained access through the window.
