A photo of a Wilcox County deputy is getting a lot of buzz on the sheriff's office's Facebook page.

In the photo, the deputy was holding open the mouth of a nearly 12-foot alligator.

The alligator caused an accident deputies responded to on Highway 112 in Wilcox County last Saturday.

A vehicle was driving on the road just before 3 a.m. and hit the alligator. That set off the airbags and caused damage to the underside of the vehicle.

The alligator was removed from the roadway by officers.

Some commenters took the agency's challenge to caption the photo.
