TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- A U.S. Navy veteran now launching a new campaign to fight a different war, suicide among veterans.

The campaign is called Operation: Warriors at War Against Suicide.

Barbara Nollie says through her experiences working at a VA hospital in Tampa as a chaplain and her time in the military, she knows what so many active duty and veterans go through, and she wants to help.

"You can imagine what it must be like for a child to have their father mother or their sister or brother commit suicide," said Nollie. "How do they deal with that? How do they reconcile with that in their lives? How do they grow up with that and who's around them to help them? I'm not saying there isn't anyone around them, but what I am saying is that there is more work to be done."

The goal of the campaign is to educate and to reach out to veterans.  Next up, Nollie and her team will be in Gainesville on July 8-9 and Jacksonville on July 12. They're taking their tour all the way to Washington D.C. If you want more information you can call (813) 203-0462 or anewheart911@gmail.com.
