FALMOUTH, Mass. (WTXL) — A woman in Massachusetts has been detained in by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after assaulting a man wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.
According to WFTV, 41-year-old Rosiane Santos was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery after a confrontation at a Mexican restaurant on Feb. 22.
She told police she was upset the man was wearing the hat in a Mexican restaurant.
WFTV reports that the man was minding his own business when Santos started yelling at him because of his hat. When asked if Santos was provoked, the bartender of the restaurant told police no.
When police showed up, she told them he shouldn't be allowed to eat in a Mexican restaurant.
ICE said they took Santos into custody on Tuesday.
According to WFTV, Santos, a Brazilian immigrant, said while she regrets her actions, she claims she was provoked.
