(WTXL) — A Walmart employee got a wild surprise while collecting shopping carts in the parking lot.
According to the Northeast Police Department in Texas, a loud scream coming from a Walmart parking lot drew the attention of one of their officers patrolling in the area on Saturday.
While collecting carts, a Walmart cart attendant found a large rat snake. NPD said somehow the snake had worked its way into a group of shopping carts that had been sitting in a return area.
Officers say John Heckaman of Savannah, Texas, also known as the 'Snake Charmer,' responded to the scene and assisted in the relocation of the snake.
Heckaman was only bit one time during the relocation process of the snake, according to officers.
Authorities say recent heavy rains are forcing a lot of snakes out of their natural habitats and as a result, it's possible for them to turn up just about anywhere.
