(WWSB) -- New legislation presented in congress could give protection to passengers who purchase airfare.
Three democratic senators are introducing the TICKET Act.
TICKET stands for Transparency, Improvements, and Compensation to Keep Every Ticket holder safe.
If passed, it would guarantee a passenger that has boarded a plane has the right to fly.
It would also address compensation limits for travelers, review ticket over-selling practices, and require flight crews to provide more advanced notice if they need to be accommodated.
The legislation is in response to an incident earlier this month when a man was dragged off a United Airlines flight after refusing to give up his seat.
