CNN — Oprah Winfrey is doing her part to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria.
Winfrey announced Monday she is making a $2 million commitment to the island.
Half of that donation will go toward the Hispanic Federation's Unidos Disaster Relief and Recovery program to develop long-term needs for Puerto Rico.
The other half will go to the Flamboyan Arts Fund , which focuses on continuing Puerto Rico's arts and culture heritage.
The U.S. territory continues to recover after the island was devastated by Maria in September 2017.
