VALHALLA, N.Y. (AP) — Federal railroad investigators are on the scene of a deadly crash between a commuter train and a car in suburban New York.

The Federal Railroad Administration said its investigators were at the site Wednesday and working to determine what caused the wreck and whether any lapses happened.

The wreck Tuesday night on the Metro-North Railroad killed five train passengers and the car's driver. Fifteen people are hospitalized.

A National Transportation Safety Board investigative team is headed from Washington to the crash site. It's in Valhalla, about 20 miles north of New York City.
