OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The FBI has resumed its search for the remains of former Teamsters union leader Jimmy Hoffa, who was last seen alive before a lunch meeting with two mobsters nearly 40 years ago.

Federal agents returned Tuesday morning to a suburban Detroit field where they spent much of the day before digging. Reputed Mafia captain Tony Zerilli told his lawyer that Hoffa was buried beneath a concrete slab in a barn in the field.

The barn no longer exists in the Oakland Township field about 25 miles north of Detroit.

Zerilli was in prison when Hoffa disappeared but he says he was informed about the whereabouts of the Teamsters boss after his release.

Since Hoffa's disappearance in 1975, multiple leads to his remains have turned out to be red herrings.
