(WTXL) — The CDC says hand washing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick.
Just some soap and water can be an effective way to stop germs from spreading. But there's one important note the CDC stresses: Scrubbing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
And if you don't know exactly how long to keep washing, the popular recommendation is to sing or hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end, twice.
While the birthday song is a classic, you can pretty much use any song you want as long as you hit the 20 second mark. Here are 10 recommendations from the ABC 27 team:
