SUMTER, SC. (WTXL) — Sumter police say they have found the body of 5-year-old Nevaeh Adams who they say was killed by the same man that murdered her mother in August.
Sumter Police Chief Russell Roark said, “I would like to thank the state, local and private agencies and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for supporting us through this tragedy. I also would like thank Gov. Henry McMaster and our elected officials for bringing Team South Carolina together with Sumter and providing the resources needed for this tremendous effort to find Nevaeh.”
Approximately 400 individuals from more than 40 agencies searched about four million pounds of material.
“This is not the outcome any of us would have wanted but we hope this can provide some closure to the family,” Roark said. “We will continue working with the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office to bring this case to trial.”
