ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Today marked the beginning of National Flood Safety Awareness week in Georgia.
Georgia's Insurance Commissioner is asking Georgians to look into a flood policy, a valuable addition to homeowner's coverage.
Flood insurance is available for up to $250,000 in damages to your home, and up to $500,000 for your business.
You should also make sure to plan ahead, a flood insurance policy will not go into effect until 30 days after you buy it.
