TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Each September, the Clery Center for Security on Campus partners with colleges, universities and other agencies to offer campus safety programming and ideas.
Wednesday the Safety Day allowed for the Department of Campus and Security to interact with the community. Students and faculty had the opportunity to meet the people who help keep FAMU safe. This years Campus Safety Awareness Day focused on domestic violence, dating violence and stalking, sexual violence, emergency preparedness and response and fire safety and awareness. Students, faculty and visitors also took part in an impaired driving obstacle course, using fatal vision goggles to simulate the effects of alcohol.
Local law enforcement representatives and Community Partners provided information regarding safety prevention.
The Annual Safety Awareness Campus Walk started at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Room and covered the entire campus.
