ATLANTA (AP)-- The nation will honor civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday — the same day as it celebrates the inauguration of the first black president to his second term.

A quirk in the calendar pushed President Barack Obama's public swearing-in in Washington onto the national holiday honoring the slain civil rights leader.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, the King Center will hosts its annual commemorative service featuring the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, who's president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. The speech will mark the first time a Latino leader has served as the keynote speaker for the commemorative service on the King holiday.
