TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee city commissioner Nancy Miller is hoping to keep the lights on year round in the chain of parks in downtown.

Miller says she is trying to push through a plan that would replace the lights currently in the park, with more efficient LED lights.

Located between Monroe and Adams street, the park's line of live oaks is usually draped with the lights all year, but they are only turned on during the Holiday season.

The change would mean the lights stay on instead at all times.

"That's going to send a great message", said Miller.  "A lot of those people are out of town, and I think they're going to go home with a lot more excited, positive impression of Tallahassee."

The lights currently in the trees are in need of being replaced anyways, and Miller says the LED option would be more efficient.
