JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting on Robinson Road in the northeast part of Jackson County on Friday, October 5.
Reports say when police arrived on scene, they found two deceased people and a child who was still breathing, but was suffering from life-threatening injuries. The child was taken by helicopter to a hospital, but passed away Saturday, October 6 from their injuries.
The deputy's preliminary investigation revealed that the two children were shot by the mother, Esbebini Sanchez, and the mother's wound was self-inflicted.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted with the investigation by State Attorney's Office, the Florida Department of Law of Enforcement, and the Medical Examiners Office.
