COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - The city of Colquitt has about a dozen murals all throughout the city as a part of the Millennium Mural Project.
Many of these murals have been withstanding the elements for over a decade, and it's starting to show with fading colors.
The mural, "Nuthin' But A Will" is in need of the most restoration after a storm damaged a metal panel of the mural.
When the Colquitt Miller Arts Council inspected the damage, they saw that the wood the mural is mounted on was severely damaged as well.
"Our first priority is 'Nuthin' But a Will.' That one needs a complete overhaul and redo from the baseboards up, basically," said Kate Cook, Managing Director of Colquitt Miller Arts Council. "That is our biggest restoration project currently. We are working on raising money for that."
The Colquitt Miller Arts Council plans to restore all of the murals in town before any new ones are painted.
