GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Six vehicles received fire damage after a semi-trailer caught fire on I-10 in Gadsden County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7:00 a.m. Friday on I-10 WB near mile marker 180.

FHP said troopers were called to I-10 regarding a semi-trailer that caught fire. The driver of the truck told FHP that while he was driving, he smelled something burning coming from his semi.

A passenger in the truck told troopers that he was sleeping at the time the incident occurred.

During the investigation, troopers concluded that the brakes heated up causing the back right tandem tires on the trailer to catch fire.
