MADISON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -With the help of 6 different agencies, deputies tracked and arrested a man who led them on a 4 hour chase.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said that around 4 p.m. on Thursday, Samuel Marcelin, 21, passed by a deputy that clocked him going around 130 miles per hour. The deputy turned on his lights and followed Marcelin, who was going westbound on I-10.
Deputies said that Marcelin pulled over in the middle of heavy traffic but sped off once again before the deputy could tell him to pull over. According to the deputy, Marcelin whipped his car around and took off going east.
Deputies said that he exited from I-10 onto CR 255 going south. Finally Marcelin lost control of the car and hit a tree, however he got out of the car and ran into a wooded area.
Other assisting units came out to help look for him with K-9s and helicopters. Police said that Marcelin was soon located and transported to the Madison County Jail. Police also discovered that the car Marcelin had was stolen from Delray Beach.
Back-up agencies that assisted include the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, Leon County Sheriff Office, and the Madison and Mayo Correctional institutions.
Marcelin was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing, and driving with a suspended license. He is also facing a pending charge of grand theft auto.
