JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)- A Mississippi man stopped for a traffic infraction by a Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputy faces charges that include several for drugs and one for attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
Jeffrey Page, 30, of Thaxton, MS, arrested Wednesday, also faces a charge for driving with a suspended license.
A deputy patrolling Blueberry Drive just south of Sneads, FL, on Wednesday attempted to stop Page. But Page sped away, according to a news release, and was caught after the vehicle appeared to stall.
At the car, the deputy smelled marijuana coming from the interior and, in searching the car, found a baggie that he field tested as having methamphetamine, a plastic container with marijuana residue, and tubing protruding through the top of a bottle cap. The tubing contained what was presumed to be methamphetamine.
Among other items, the deputy found a green bag that had a coffee filter with more presumed methamphetamine in it and three glass pipes.
Page was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
