UPDATE 08/22/16-- After multiple complaints and attempts by WTXL to contact the Management of The Commons Apartment Complex, they have released a statement.
This comes after reports from students and parents trying to move in to the complex said that the facilities were damaged, had mold, and had not been cleaned properly.
The Commons is saying that the reason is that they mistakenly turned over 12 apartments that were not ready.
They say they are ready to fix these problems and move forward with leases. However parents of several students are still saying an apology is not enough and they want their money back.
The Commons say they have been working with local restaurants to provide gift cards and other concessions for residents who experienced move in difficulty.

TALLAHASSEE, FL.(WTXL)-- With College starting in just 2 days for most in Tallahassee, this weekend has been flooded with people moving. Unfortunately, the day was not what some expected.
Parents moving their kids in to the Commons Apartment Complex called the facilities "disgusting" siting mold, mildew, and roach droppings, as well as stains on the carpet.
While some are staying in hotels, others do not have the ability. One student says that he didn't have any other choice but to stay in the apartment for the night and hope things were squared away soon.
Parents of the effected are now requesting their money back and that their leases be terminated.
