TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- If you've been to Tallahassee's Downtown Getdown, it's hard to miss The Mountain Dew Cloggers. The local group has been a crowd favorite at the fall event for 20 years.

Exciting music and energetic cloggers make you just want to dance along. "It's so much fun to come out here on Friday nights and have a good time because they do so many different styles of music," said Karinda Barrett.

The cloggers have grown to be a staple in the fall Downtown Getdown tradition. They've been showing off their moves since the event started 20 years ago.

The amazing part is the group of local cloggers ranges in age from 5 to 85.

"You like get to do different moves and use your feet to do things and do fancy things," said Trace Smith, one clogger. And when you watch the group... they're truly having a blast."I have been clogging for the excitement since I was 17 and I'm 59 and so happy to do it. And Tallahassee is the greatest place to be, especially when you can come on Friday night to the Downtown Getdown," said Elaine Wimberly-Whittington.

That's why the crowd continues to show up for the Mountain Dew Cloggers. They warm up the crowd every week for the headlining act. A free, community concert is hard to beat. But many at the Downtown Getdown say the cloggers put on a unique and unforgettable show.

"Just being part of the community, it's so much fun. And have people be here for us and with us, as well," said Suzanne Burnes, a clogger. The cloggers love bringing new people to the dance floor to learn some moves.

Their motto - Clog till you drop. It's just one more way this party goes on even after the sun goes down.
