MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - A Moultrie teen charged with fatally shooting a young mother in a park last year could get a new trial.
After more than four hours of deliberation, a mistrial was declared in the case against Jaquan Willis.
Willis was 16-years-old when GBI agents say he shot and killed Fatisha Clark in the parking lot of Ryce Community Center. Investigators say Willis and 6 others were involved in a fight and he fired shots from a car striking Clark who was an innocent bystander.
Willis is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Family members of Clark said they don't believe Willis intentionally killed her and they are okay with the jury's decision.
The jury found Willis guilty on one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Willis's lawyer said since the case is still pending he didn't have any comment at the time.
