MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) - Because of a spike in crime in Moultrie, police are enforcing a strict curfew on juveniles, and parents could be held responsible.
The police department's campaign is called 'No Tolerance for Crime.'
Curfew is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
There will be additional police patrolling the area during those times.
"If we see some juveniles out past curfew, we will make contact with them. We are trying to get compliance from the families of these children," said Deputy Chief David Corona of the Moultrie Police Department. "At first we will get out with them, we will either call the child's parent to come pick them up, or we will take them home."
There are some exceptions to the curfew such as school and church functions.
