Moultrie House Fire Leads to Discovery of 3 Pounds of Marijuana

MOULTRIE, GA (WTXL) - While investigating a house fire, law enforcement found 3 pounds of marijuana in the home, according to the Moultrie Police Department.

Police say an officer noticed flames in the 1000 block of 1st Avenue NW Moultrie; no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

After the fire was extinguished, approximately 3 pounds of marijuana was found intact inside the home.

Ebony L. Sheffield, a resident of the home, was arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, according to Officers. She was taken to the Colquitt County Jail.

In a statement, Chief Frank Lang said, “Although the investigation is on-going, the officers and fire service personnel involved in this investigation embody the dedication and commitment all of our residents in this community deserve.”
