DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Ebony Wilkerson will return to court Friday to find out if a judge will send her back to a psychiatric hospital.
Wilkerson appeared before a judge Monday. She stood trial for the attempted murder of her three young children after authorities say she drove them and herself into Atlantic Ocean just off of Daytona Beach in 2014. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity on three charges of child neglect and child endangerment
Wilkerson could have her conditional release revoked after she stopped taking her medication while staying at Lake Wales Care Center. Wilkerson suffered a psychiatric episode in May as a result of being off of her medication.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to have Wilkerson sent back to a psychiatric hospital.
