TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Case has been dismissed for the Gadsden County mother accused of hitting a registered nurse in a mental health facility

Brown was found not fit to stand trial for the battery charge in May.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The mother accused of stabbing her two infant sons has been charged with battery on a medical care provider in Leon County.

Carolyn Brown, who was charged with two counts of attempted murder in Gadsden County in April, is now facing additional charges in Leon County.

The charges are related to an incident on May 24, according to court documents.

Brown's first appearance was at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Gadsden County mother accused of stabbing her infant sons will remain in the Leon County jail without bail.

Carolyn Brown, 33, was taken to the Leon County Jail on a battery charge Tuesday after being Baker Acted by Quincy Police Department. She is also being held in custody for a warrant out of Gadsden County.

Brown was detained on Tuesday after the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office responded to a home at 589 Havana Highway and found her two infants with cuts all over their bodies.

After being Baker Acted by QPD, Brown was brought to the Apalachee Center, a mental health facility, where she attacked a nurse as soon as her handcuffs were removed.

Court documents say Brown "threw several punches" at the nurses head and body before being handcuffed again. As a result, Brown was charged with battery on a medical provider.

Brown's first appearance was at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 33-year-old mother will be charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her two infant sons multiple times.

Sgt. Anglie Hightower said that the two infant boys, 8-months-old and 18-months-old, have been hospitalized.

According to Hightower, the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office was called to a home at 589 Havana Highway around 2:45 p.m. about two stabbings. When they arrived, they found the infants with cuts all over their face and body.

An investigation revealed that Carolyn Denise Brown, 33, allegedly stabbed her two infant sons. The infants were then transported to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the mother was taken into custody via the Baker Act.

The infants suffered life threatening injuries. One has under gone surgery and the other is in surgery.

Since then, the mother has been arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail on charges from the Tallahassee Police Department. GCSO says the charges are unrelated to the stabbing.

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office says charges of two counts of attempted murder against Brown are pending. They say the investigation is ongoing.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is assisting the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office with processing the scene.

This is a developing story.
