TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Due to a water line break, the City of Tallahassee is issuing a precautionary boil water notice to approximately 84 homes.
They say that a water line broke in the area near Rhoden Cove Road.
The impacted area includes residents along Rhoden Cove Road, Frank Shaw Road, Dexter Drive, Sally Lane, Pine Tip Road, Cherry Bluff Lane and Lake Ridge Drive.
The homes under the precautionary boil water notice are without water at this time, although water service is anticipated to be restored by midnight, possibly earlier.
The city says the precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the repairs are completed and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, which typically takes 48 hours.
The city recommends that for the next 48 hours, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled.
They say a rolling boil of one minute is enough.
The city says residents in the impacted area will be notified when the water is safe to drink.
