GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - In less than a week, Gadsden County officials say they've picked up over 1,000 loads storm debris left behind by Michael.
According to officials, approximately 81 certified haulers are working in the area.
Citizens are reminded not to mix debris. White goods (appliances) should be placed separate from vegetative debris and separate from construction and demolition debris. Also, residents are asked to NOT place debris near or on fire hydrants, water meters, utility pedestals or any other hazard. Hurricane debris should not be bagged.
Residents are also urged to use caution when traveling as many signs have been impacted.
Additionally, to help with storm recovery, Gadsden County has on-boarded over 140 local citizens to assist with debris monitoring efforts.
