VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - After flying in three different wars, serving his country for nearly 30 years, and flying as a civilian for 30 more years, Moody Air Force Base has confirmed that Colonel Clarence Parker has passed away at age 96.

Media Operations Zachery Wolf said that he passed away over the weekend.

Parker passed away with more than 70 years of flying experience under his belt. The Moody Air Force Base says that he had taken his final flight in a Piper Saratoga aircraft and hung up his wings back in 2011.

According to base officials, Parker served the country from 1942 until 1971 before ending his career as the wing commander at Moody Air Force Base.

He has flown in three different wars and several combat missions: World War II, the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Moody says they don't have a commemoration planned yet.
