TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Celebrations of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place all throughout Tallahassee.

To start off the day, The Tallahassee Branch of the NAACP will host their annual Reverend C.K. Steele Commemorative Service and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Rally.

That kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Monday at C.K. Steele Bus Terminal.

At 10:30 a.m., an MLK Commemorative Rally at the Capitol will take place.

Afterward you can head over to Cascades Park for the MLK Dare to Dream Festival, which runs from noon to 4 p.m.

That's where we find WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams.

The MLK Dare to Dream Festival serves as a way to bring people from different walks of life in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This is the 7th year for the festival.

The festival will allow the community to gather in fellowship to continue the recognition of King.

It is a way to celebrate his dream and inspire others to pursue their dreams.

There will be a live soundstage, musical performances by various artists, and a Celebrity DJ Battle.

The festival will also feature an MLK Birthday Bash for kids, food, vendors, community service project, and a historical exhibit. It will be hosted by Comedian Tight Mike.

Tiffany Bowers of the Dare to Dream Festival commented.

"This is essentially a day of service," Bowers said. "And so this organization has been in place to serve our community, to serve Tallahassee, to show people that there are things out there that you can, you know, the biggest things that you can dream, they can come to fruition."
