LUTZ, Fla. (AP) — Authorities have captured an escaped prisoner who went missing from the Paso County area and was been on the lam for about 24 hours.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy saw 27-year-old Jason Adams riding a bicycle Tuesday afternoon. The deputy asked for identification and Adams revealed himself. He was arrested without incident and booked into jail.
Pasco County Sheriff's officials says Adams walked away after taking a bathroom break on Monday while working in the Lutz area north of Tampa. His blue striped prison uniform was later found.
According to the Department of Corrections website, Adams was sentenced to several years in prison last fall for burglary and grand theft charges.
