Minor and 26-Year-Old Arrested for Separate Burglaries in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Police have arrested a minor and a 26-year-old man for two separate burglaries in Valdosta. 

The Valdosta Police Department said the first suspect arrested was Dennis Hart for a the burglary of a boat motor and trolling motor.

Police said they were first notified about the theft in September. They said that a boat motor and a trolling motor were stolen from a shed in the 1600 block of River Street. 

On Oct. 3, detectives said they got information on a suspect, Hart, who possibly had the boat motor. They interviewed Hart and arrested him after further investigation.

Hart was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property.

Police said that they were also investigating another burglary in September. The burglary happened on Hyssop Crossing and the victim reported that numerous items had been stolen from his home.

Days later, officers said they received a call from a minor's mom who told them that she had found items in her son's room that she believed to be stolen.

A complaint was filed against the minor on Oct. 6 and the case was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
