TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today Governor Rick Scott announced Mike Carroll as the new Secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Carroll has been with DCF for nearly 25 years, serving as interim Secretary since April, 2014.
Governor Scott said, "Since April, Mike Carroll has provided strong leadership at the Department of Children and Families. With over two decades of faithful service to Florida families, I am confident he will be an excellent DCF Secretary. He brings a common sense approach to the services the agency provides and he has a passion for serving Florida's most vulnerable children."
Secretary Mike Carroll said, "It is an honor to be named the Secretary of the Department of Children and Families today. I am committed to our agency's mission that every Florida child can live in a healthy and safe home. We will continue to find ways to accomplish this goal and serve Florida families better each and every day."
Most Recently, Carroll has served as Regional Manager of DCF's SunCoast region. According to Gov. Scott's communication's office, Carroll has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston College and is a Certified Public Manager.
