MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Midway City Mayor Pro Tem Charles Willis will be on next week's ballot, even though a Gadsden county Judge ordered his name to be taken off of it.
The judge made the ruling last week after a complaint was filed by Willis' opponent, Sam Stevens. Stevens argued that Willis is living outside of the district he represents.
Willis was among the council members who voted 4-3 to appeal the ruling. That appeal is now being taken to the first district court of appeals. It could take months to process.
Meanwhile, Gadsden Supervisor of Elections tells us Willis' name will be on the ballot next week.
