HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) - Miami-Dade police said a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot multiple times Monday night.
According to the Miami Herald, (http://hrld.us/1QTaC0k ) police said the shooting happened in the Homestead area, about 28 miles southwest of Miami, just before 8 p.m.
The boy told police he was walking when the shooter fired at him, hitting him three times in the torso.
Police said the boy was rushed to a hospital. There was no official word on his condition yet.
The motive of the shooting is unknown.
The shooting happened the day after a 7-year-old boy was fatally shot in Richmond Heights, also in south Miami-Dade.
