Posted

GRAND BAY, AL (WALA) - Mobile County Sheriff's officials say the gummy bears eaten by six Alma Bryant High School students Thursday were laced with meth.

Thursday, November 2, six students were checked out by doctors at various hospitals after a teacher noticed the students were acting "loopy."  All of the students were later released by hospital staff.

Bayou La Batre police were at Bryant High School investigating after the incidents were reported.

Police say three students were arrested and taken to Strickland Youth Center and authorities say they are also looking at the involvement of adults with the drugs and more arrests could come soon.

Mobile County Sheriff officials say they conducted field tests on the drug laced candy.

They say the candy will undergo further analysis at the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
