THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--Nearly 70 men strutted their stuff in red high heels on March 2. They raised nearly $40,000 to help women and children who have been physically or sexually abused.
"Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is a fundraiser for the Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center of Thomas County, Ga. Organizers say the main sponsor of the event was the Thomasville Junior Service League.
THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--Men in Thomasville will strut their stuff in high heels this weekend all for a great cause.
Organizer Steve Jones shows off his red heels he'll walk a mile in.
The goal of the "walk in a mile in her shoes" march is to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.
All proceeds benefit the Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center of Thomas county.
Jones says if you participate you're not only doing a great service you'll also have a lot of fun.
"If you want to see a sight, want get a good laugh you should come out saturday morning and tromp around in these red shoes," said Jones."It is quite a sight to see."
You can still sign up for the event that's this Saturday at the Thomasville High School track.
You can also sponsor a walker.
