SEBRING, Fla. (AP) — Two central Florida men convicted of beating another man unconscious and then burning his body have been sentenced to life in prison.
A Highlands County judge sentenced 24-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez and 21-year-old Kenneth Felipe Jr. on Thursday. They were convicted earlier this month of first-degree murder, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
Authorities say Rodriguez and Felipe were at a party in June 2012 when Felipe punched Aaron Doty, knocking him unconscious. Rodriguez the jumped on Doty and continued to beat him.
The Tampa Tribune (http://goo.gl/YsdZ5l) reports that Rodriguez and Felipe burned Doty's body hours later while he was still alive, but unconscious.
