TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Deerlake Middle School students and staff remembering a teacher killed in a car crash today.
Thursday afternoon students planted a tree outside the classroom of the late science teacher, Abby Fishburn. A memorial service was held afterwards. State troopers say Fishburn was killed the morning of May 1 after driving the wrong way down the off ramp on Interstate 10 at the North Monroe exit.
Fishburn collided with a charter bus head on. No one of the bus was seriously injured. Students and staff say she will surely be missed.
Fisburn was a first year teacher at Deerlake Middle School. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
