Memorial Day Schedule For Leon County Government

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The Leon County offices are closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

This also includes all county libraries, community centers, the solid waste management facility, rural waste service centers, animal control, Marpan Recycling, and Waste Pro.

Leon County parks and recreation facilities will be open.

The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System's main library will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. The Leon County Main Library (downtown) will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, and branch libraries will reopen at 11 a.m.

Also, residential waste collection routes will be delayed one day for those whose normal pick-up day is during and after the holiday. For more information, call the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division at (850) 606-1800.

In the event of an animal-related emergency, service is available by calling the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at (850) 606-5800. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
