Meigs, Ga. (WTXL)--Voters in Meigs will take to the polls on Tuesday for a recall election that could replace the current mayor.
Mayor Linda Harris has been arrested several times and now, faces an indictment on theft by taking charges.
Though the tiny town of Meigs only holds about 1,200 the stir up is causing a big impact and now Harris is speaking out, calling the allegations against her a misunderstanding.
"When I took the $80 dollars, it was to take care of city business. They said I took it for a trip but the trip was to get the city some insurance because we lost ours"
Governor Nathan Deal is set to step in to help get the city of Meigs back on it's feet.
Voters can cast their ballots tomorrow at the Meigs Community Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
