TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The future of medical marijuana in Florida will likely come down to the final day of the 2014 legislative session.

The Florida House voted 111-7 in support of a bill that would allow doctors to prescribe the "Charlotte's Web" strain of marijuana, a low-THC variant that has been shown to help patients suffering from seizures.

The Senate previously passed the bill, but the House made some alterations in an effort to curb potential abuses.  That amended version must now head back to the Senate for final approval.
