TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A medical marijuana dispensary is still coming together in Tallahassee's Killearn neighborhood. It would be the city's second dispensary, with plans for others temporarily put on hold. Surterra Wellness has a physical location on Village Square Boulevard.
The company is working on the legal rights to dispense at the site. In the meantime, Surterra is seeing eligible patients who can fill out forms for local deliveries.
One nearby business says it supports the use of marijuana for medicial purposes but worries about whether legalization of recreational use is next.
"As long as we're using [it] for curing the health, it's better," said Sam Babariya, owner of Helga's Alterations, "but for chemical substance, then we're leaving the worst generation for the future. Our responsibility is to, as human beings, leave a better generation than we are. But for better health, curing the health, I would say I have no problem."
WTXL has reached out to Surterra for comment and is awaiting a response.
