TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum kicks off a new initiative geared at mentoring young people in the area.
Thursday Mayor Gillum launched the 1,000 Mentors program, focused on recruiting a cadre of 1,000 men and women willing to volunteer their time as mentors and volunteers for youth in our community. The initiative is made possible through the partnership with several community agencies, including Leon County Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Grace Mission Church, Goodwill Good guides, and several others. The goal is to support great work and facilitate the development of caring and supportive relationships.
