TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is being investigated for the use of his government related email for personal use.
State Attorney Jack Campbell received a written request from a resident Wednesday, asking that Gillum be investigated. Campbell then contacted the Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Sheriff's Office to discuss it.
Campbell said that FDLE or LSCO will conduct the investigation and present their findings to him. The written complaint alleges that Gillum purchased several thousands dollars of political software through public funds.
Jaime Van Pelt, the community relations coordinator for the Mayor's office, said that Gillum reimbursed the city last week, the total coming in under $5,000.
Mayor Gillum has not issued a statement on the matter as of now.
