STATESBORO, Ga. (WTXL) - A Marianna woman was arrested in Statesboro, Ga. for drug related charges after police say she evaded them for months.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said that back in October 2016, they issued a warrant for 38-year-old Martha Bellamy who was wanted for failure to appear for drug related charges.

They said that Bellamy had fled the area in an attempt to avoid arrest.

JSCO said that they requested that the case be taken by the U.S. Marshal Service due to information that she had fled to Georgia.

On Saturday, Bellamy was taken into custody in Statesboro. They said that she expected to be taken back to Jackson County to face charges.

Bellamy is facing charges related to the manufacture of a controlled substance, trafficking in meth over 28 grams, and 2 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
