MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) — An arrest has been made in connection to the 2015 murder of an elderly man in Marianna.
The Marianna Police Department says they have arrested Jessie Jackson for the murder of 72-year-old David Tinsley in 2015
On January 19, 2015, the Marianna Police Department received a 911 call to come to Tinsley's home in the 4200 block of Graham Street. When they arrived, officers discovered Tinsley's body.
Evidence pointed to foul play.
MPD says they, the 14th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, have been continuously working on this case since by analyzing the evidence collected at the scene and interviewing potential witnesses.
Through this investigation, 56-year-old Jessie Jackson was named a suspect in the homicide and based on the evidence, was charged on August 30 with second degree murder.
Jackson is currently serving a sentence in Columbia Correctional Institute in Lake City, Florida on an unrelated charge.

On Monday, Marianna Police say they received a 911 call to a home on Graham Street. They found 72-year-old David Tinsley dead. Officers say they also discovered evidence indicating foul play was involved.
