MARIANNA, FL (WTXL) - Marianna Police are one step closer to finding the man they say stole a woman's purse last month.

Police have now identified the suspect in this incident as Alan Henderson.

According to police, the 50-year-old went up to a woman outside the Dollar General on Lafayette Street Monday, February 29th.

Officers say Henderson originally asked her for the time, but eventually grabbed her neck and demanded she open her car. As Henderson tried to get inside the woman's car, officers say she fell to the floor and that's when he grabbed her purse and ran away.

Wednesday, March 2nd, Marianna Police found video surveillance of the suspect in this case, as well as, another person of interest.

Saturday morning officers were able to identify Henderson. They now have a warrant for him on charges of robbery and grand theft.

Police say Henderson is currently on probation in Alabama and has an extensive criminal history. They are asking anyone who knows where Henderson is or may be to call them at 850-526-5000 or the Chipola Crime Stoppers at 850-482-5000.
