MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - A traffic stop lead deputies to arrest a Marianna man for possession of meth.
James Coffelt, 30, was driving the vehicle without a valid driver's license.
On Mar. 1, a Deputy Sheriff with the Uniform Patrol Division saw a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on the car.
After the car stopped, the deputy saw the male that was driving the vehicle cross over the center console and switch seats with a female passenger.
During the traffic stop, consent was given from Coffelt for a search of the car.
A search of the car revealed, in the driver's side compartment, a small plastic case that contained two small jewelry bags of methamphetamine.
It was also discovered that Coffelt did not possess a valid driver's license and was on active state probation.
Coffelt was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
Coffelt has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license, and violation of state probation.
